The Dresden codex was the first Mayan manuscript that were reported. is known that Johann Christian Goetze, director of theDresden bibliotek Königlichen, bought it from a person in Vienna in 1739 and in 1740 became part of the inventory of the collection.Passed unnoticed for 70 years, until in 1810 the leading German scientist Alexander von Humboldt makes it known in his Vues desMonuments et des Peuples Cordillérres Indigenous de l'Amérique.
During the Second World War, city of Dresden was bombed and the codex bears the name of the city suffered severe damage in 12 of its pages
Regarding its thematic can say that includes a wide range of topics but emphasize those about astronomical content related to the moon and Venus, calendrical matters, prophecies and calendars.
From the artistic point of view, it is considered that the Dresden Codex, is the most beautiful of the three Maya manuscripts that are known, due to the luster of traces and the decision of the texts. On the stylistic features the document may have been made by eight different scribes.

Page 1.-
This is the first page of Codex Dresden, stands the figure of Chan Chic god, the god of fertilization.
Page 2.-
On the top, dedicated to the spirit, we see dates divination. A man decapitated with hands tied behind, wearing the collar of death.Next to God Chic Chan (god of fertility). Represents the sacrifice to be born a second time.
In the middle, the red goddess holding a tissue attachment for weaving, front of her sits the God Chic Chan, holding a threaded needle; and the God of death, which inserts the threaded needle to weave, below them is also the god of corn and Itzamna (creator God) with threaded needles. This is preparation for the loom of the great work that's why the gods are all working on the higher planes.
And for the parallel law in the bottom is the Goddess of the moon and the Divine Mother brings trials and temptations that must be overcome to achieve death, which is her side, here the Divine Mother has the aspect of the earth monster.
Here is the complete sheet 2 ... where caught my attention particularly, what is the meaning, about the Maya numbers listed.
