Chan Cenote Church and Convent

(1)

One of the surprises when you travel to places you do not know in Mexico, is to get to places so full of history as Chan Cenote, Tizimin, Yucatan, a small town of just 2250 people, where most people are of Mayan descent, and nearly can be say it is the most common language here.

This place is about 165 kms from the city of Cancun.

But  what is in this place that attracts the visitor, the old church of San Roman almost in ruins, but still in use and the ruins of the former convent of San Francisco, dating from the seventeenth century.

I think this is was one of the first churches built in the continent by the Spanish in their conquest of Mexico.

I give you an advice, be sure to try the honey bee from this town, is delicious.

You can get for free the photo, just follow the link,  below from my website.

I also invite you to visit my website, the photos are very cheap, because I need money to continue traveling.

Thank you very much, and remember to be happy =)
